Daughters Day is a community initiative in Edmonton to highlight the importance of the daughters in all our lives – every girl and woman is a daughter – and to support the flourishing of communities committed to ending all discrimination and to stopping human rights abuses against women. Its annual event will be held on Saturday, August 29, at Edmonton City Hall. It will feature guest speaker Zarqa Nawaz, creator of the TV series "Little Mosque on the Prairie."
